Abstract Submission
When will I find out if I've been invited to participate in TCS 23?
The conference's Planning Committee will begin their review of all submissions immediately after the submission deadline on October 24, 2011. Prospective participants will be invited to participate in the conference on December 18, 2011.
Can I make edits or other changes to my abstract submission after the deadline?
Your abstract submission should be in the final form you would like it to appear in the Program. If the Conference Committee feels that edits should be made to the abstract, you will be notified by December 18, 2011. If you need to change a part of your abstract, or if presenters change, please contact Program Chair, Julia Wyman, jwyman@rwu.edu.
The online submission system asks about copyright clearance. Can I publish my paper in a journal or other venue, in addition to presenting my work at the conference?
Yes, you may publish your work in a journal or other venue after the TCS conference ends. The copyright information is for our reference in developing the Conference Proceedings.
I want to submit an abstract for a Panel Session. Do I need to list the panelists for my proposed session, or can TCS fill my panel session for me?
TCS will not fill panels for you and will treat proposals for Panel Sessions as one session per author. In addition, proposals for Panel Sessions must include names of invited and confirmed panelists, and submitters are encouraged to incorporate presentations from different disciplines and regions.
I am having trouble submitting my abstract. Who should I contact?
If you experience technical difficulties while trying to submit your abstract or paper, email TCS 23 Program Chair Julia Wyman at jwyman@rwu.edu.
Registration
Do you have to be a member of TCS to attend or give a presentation at the conference?
No. The TCS Conference is open to everyone. Membership is not a condition of participation. While we hope that you will consider membership in our organization, non-members are welcome to both attend and give presentations.
If I'm a presenter, do I have to pay the registration fee?
Yes. TCS is a non-profit organization and is unable to offer financial assistance to conference presenters. Payment of the full registration fee enables our biennial conference to occur and to continue an international dialogue about coastal and ocean issues.
Is there a reduced registration fee for students?
If you are a full time student, you may register at the student rate and compete for the student awards. You may be asked to show proof of enrollment, such as a student identification card. Please check our website again closer to the conference date to review the TCS 23 registration fees.
Other Student Needs
Is there any available financial assistance for student registration, travel, and lodging?
Yes. The Student Travel Scholarship Committee will be accepting requests from students in the near future. Please check back soon for more information and deadlines. Awards for TCS 23 have been made.
International participants
In what currency will the conference registration fee be listed?
The conference registration fee will be in United States dollars (USD). Please check our website again closer to the conference date to review the TCS 23 registration fees.
Can TCS assist me with visa procedures in my home country to attend TCS 23?
