Benefits of Conference Support

Discover Solutions

The Coastal Society has organized one of the longest-running series of coastal conferences that provide a forum for interdisciplinary information exchange on coastal issues. Speakers debate different sides of the issues in plenary sessions creating an awareness of differing needs among coastal resource users, and opening the way for new approaches to coastal issues. Management professionals share differing strategies to addressing issues in concurrent sessions, thus sparking new ideas to try. The TCS conference is the place to listen, discuss, ask questions and think about the application of this knowledge to your own work, and to the future of the coasts. Plan to attend as a sponsor and participate in the discovery.

Connect with Coastal Professionals
Approximately 400 participants are expected to attend the 2008 conference including policy and decision-makers, state and federal coastal and ocean resource managers, local planners, academics from a variety of disciplines, business and industry, teachers, graduate students, coastal engineers and other consultants. Coastal connections, transcending geographic boundaries and across professions, are made at conferences and kept long after, enriching the information on which decisions about coastal resources are made. Make your own connections by attending as a conference sponsor.

Promote Your Organization's Role in Coastal Issues
The Coastal Society is interested in partnering with sponsors that have an interest in coastal issues whether it results from work or play, and that are committed to addressing those issues by fostering dialogue, forging partnerships and promoting communication and education all interested in coastal resources. Bring your organization to the center of the dialogue, and communicate your expertise to conference participants as a sponsor.

Sponsor Benefits
Sponsors will have ample opportunity to meet and mingle informally with conference attendees at all educational sessions, lunches and receptions. Early in the conference members of the TCS Board of Directors will be sure to introduce themselves and help you make connections. Formal recognition will be given to sponsors in all conference materials including the registration packet, final program and the conference proceedings. Lists of sponsors will be displayed on site during the conference. Sponsors of $1,000 or above will receive an exhibit space in the area where all session breaks will be held.

Sponsor Opportunities
The caliber of these stimulating conferences cannot be produced without conference sponsorships. Unrestricted funds as charitable donations to this 501 (c) (3) charitable organization have the greatest benefit to both The Coastal Society and the sponsor. However, if individual corporate or government agency giving restrictions apply, sponsorships will be acknowledged as support for the conference within the range of permissible activities. To get an indication of the types of conference activities and their associated costs, please see the list entitled Sponsor Opportunities.
If you are interested in becoming a conference sponsor, please contact the TCS Executive Director, Ms. Judy Tucker, by telephone at 757-565-0999 or by e-mail at coastalsoc@aol.com.
Sponsorship arrangements are subject to review by the TCS board of Directors.
