Select a state/province by clicking on the map to get information on government agencies and NGOs responsible for ocean and coastal management.
Common trends and issues in this coastal region are: high rates of population growth and in-migration; resource- dependent communities in decline; threatened salmon runs; volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis along the Cascadia Subduction Zone; coastal erosion and flooding; a beleaguered fishing industry; expanding marine tourism and recreation; and growing trans-Pacific container trade.
As envisioned, the TCS Cascadia Chapter will serve as a valuable forum for exchange of ideas for improving coastal and ocean management throughout the region.
